The EE spotlight shines this month on sustainable and social clothing atelier Fabriek Fris.
Fair and local
With an experienced team led by founders Rosan van Boven and Kim Bijvank, Fabriek Fris creates quality collections for Dutch fashion brands in a sustainable and social way. The team (consisting mainly of status holders) makes clothing for both large established brands, as well as for new emerging companies from their atelier in Ede (the Netherlands).
Fabriek Fris wants to show that clothing production can also be done differently. They do this through fair and local production to promote social impact, better working conditions and more economic equality. Therefore, the team of Fabriek Fris also models the items of the collection themselves. In doing so, they give a face to the makers behind the studio. 'Precisely because the fashion industry is often far removed from us and there is little transparency,' says Rosan.
The Canvas collection
In addition to on-demand productions, Fabriek Fris also offers a Canvas Collection for both individuals and fashion brands. The Canvas Collection is a collection of items that can be personalized with printing or embroidery. The collection includes an oversized T-shirt, a regular fit T-shirt, a relaxed sweater and a boxy hoodie. Together, the items in the Canvas Collection provide the ideal foundation for a sustainable, fair trade clothing collection. The locally produced-, sustainable clothing labels for in these items are provided by EE Label Factory
